The Stereo Fold – Windows Installation Guide
This guide will help you install and set up The Stereo Fold on Windows 10 or 11.
The Stereo Fold is an audio effect plugin in VST3 format. Unlike our virtual instruments, it doesn't require any additional samples or libraries. Simply install the plugin, open your DAW, and you're ready to go!
Installation Guide
Step 1: Downloading the Plugin
After purchasing The Stereo Fold, you'll receive an email containing your download link. You can also access your purchase at any time through the My Downloads section of our website.
Download the Windows version of The Stereo Fold. If the download is a compressed ZIP file, extract it before proceeding.
Step 2: Installing the Plugin
1. Locate the downloaded installer (.exe) and double-click it to launch the setup wizard.
2. If Windows displays a security warning, verify that the installer was downloaded from the official Nyquist Labs website. If you trust the file, click More info, followed by Run anyway.
3. Read and accept the license agreement, then click Next.
4. Choose the installation location. We recommend leaving the default directory unchanged.
5. Click Install to begin installing The Stereo Fold.
6. Once the installation is complete, click Finish.
The default Windows VST3 installation directory is:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\
Step 3: Loading The Stereo Fold in Your DAW
1. Open your DAW (Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, REAPER, etc.).
2. If necessary, rescan your installed plugins.
3. Find The Stereo Fold in your VST3 effects list.

You're all set! The Stereo Fold is now ready to use.
Important: The Stereo Fold is an audio effect, not a virtual instrument. Make sure to load it as an effect rather than as an instrument.

Troubleshooting
The plugin doesn't appear in my DAW
First, try closing and reopening your DAW. If The Stereo Fold still doesn't appear, perform a plugin rescan.
Make sure that:
• The plugin is installed in the correct VST3 directory.
• Your DAW supports VST3 plugins.
• You're looking for The Stereo Fold under audio effects, not instruments.
Windows blocks the installation
Windows SmartScreen may display a warning for software from smaller developers.
If you downloaded the installer directly from Nyquist Labs and have verified that the file is legitimate, you can select More info and Run anyway to continue.
There's no sound or stereo widening
Make sure The Stereo Fold is inserted on a channel that is receiving audio. Check that the plugin isn't bypassed and that its Mix setting is turned up.
To hear the full widening effect, make sure your track or output is routed in stereo.
