The Stereo Fold – macOS Installation Guide
This guide will help you install and set up The Stereo Fold on your Mac.
The Stereo Fold is an audio effect plugin available in VST3 and Audio Unit (AU) formats. No additional sample libraries are required — just install the plugin and start creating!
Installation Guide
Step 1: Downloading the Plugin
After purchasing The Stereo Fold, you'll receive an email containing your download link. You can also access your purchase at any time through the My Downloads section of our website.
Download the macOS version of The Stereo Fold. If the download is a compressed ZIP file, double-click it to extract its contents.
Step 2: Installing the Plugin
If your download includes an installer (.pkg):
1. Double-click the installer to begin.
2. Follow the instructions on your screen.
3. Select the plugin formats you would like to install, if the installer offers this option.
4. Complete the installation.
If your download contains plugin files directly:
You can install the plugin manually by copying the files to the appropriate folders.
For VST3 (.vst3), copy the plugin to:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
For Audio Unit (.component), copy the plugin to:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
To access these folders, open Finder, click Go → Go to Folder in the menu bar, and paste the corresponding path.
Depending on your DAW, you'll need one of the following formats:
• VST3: Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, REAPER, Bitwig Studio, and other compatible DAWs.
• AU: Logic Pro, GarageBand, and other macOS DAWs supporting Audio Units.
You can install both formats if you use different DAWs.
Step 3: Loading The Stereo Fold in Your DAW
1. Open your DAW.
2. Allow your DAW to scan newly installed plugins, or initiate a rescan if necessary.
3. Locate The Stereo Fold in your plugin browser.
4. Add the plugin to an audio track, instrument channel, or effects bus.
In Logic Pro, look for The Stereo Fold in the Audio FX menu.
That's it! The Stereo Fold is installed and ready to use.
Important: The Stereo Fold is an audio effect, not a virtual instrument. Make sure to load it as an effect rather than an instrument.

Troubleshooting
macOS prevents the plugin from being installed
Depending on your macOS security settings, you may see a warning that the installer cannot be opened because its developer cannot be verified.
If you downloaded the installer from the official Nyquist Labs website and have verified the file, open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Look for the message concerning the blocked installer and select Open Anyway, if available.
Then follow the prompts to complete installation.
The plugin doesn't appear in my DAW
First, close and reopen your DAW.
If the plugin still doesn't appear, make sure that:
• The plugin files are located in the correct VST3 or AU folder.
• You're using a supported plugin format.
• You're looking for The Stereo Fold under audio effects rather than instruments.
In Logic Pro, you can also open Logic Pro → Settings → Plug-in Manager and check whether the Audio Unit has been successfully validated. If necessary, select the plugin and click Reset & Rescan Selection.
There's no sound or stereo widening
Make sure The Stereo Fold is loaded onto a track receiving audio, and that the plugin is not bypassed.
Check the Mix setting and make sure your output is configured for stereo playback.
